Hail leaves dozens to hundreds of shallow dents spread across horizontal panels — hood, roof, trunk, and the tops of fenders and quarters. The correct repair is paintless dent repair, performed panel by panel: each dent worked out individually from behind the metal, leaving your factory paint untouched. Repainting a hail-damaged car would cost more than most vehicles are worth and would strip away the original finish in the process. PDR is both the insurer-preferred method and the one that protects what the car is worth afterward.
Every major hailstorm brings out-of-state repair operations into Tulsa within days — pop-up tents, rented lots, aggressive door-knocking. They repair fast, collect from the insurer, and follow the next storm out of state. When something surfaces a year later — a repair that didn’t hold, a panel that wasn’t reassembled right, trim that rattles — there’s nobody left to call and no warranty worth the paper.
Heartland has been on East 46th Street doing this since 2000. Our guarantee means something because we’ll be here next spring, and the spring after. That’s not a sales line; it’s the practical difference between a local shop and a storm chaser.
We estimate with Mobile Tech RX, the panel-by-panel matrix system insurance carriers recognize — it accounts for dent count, panel, and access rather than a windshield-glance guess. We document the damage thoroughly, submit the estimate, and negotiate directly with your adjuster so the claim reflects what’s actually on the car. Insurers negotiate down by default; having a shop that does this every storm season is worth real money to you.
We work with all insurance carriers. You need a claim number to start. You pay your deductible; we handle the paperwork side. Occasionally an adjuster approves replacing a part rather than repairing it — that’s usually claim economics, not a limit of PDR, and we’ll explain exactly which it is in your case.
From our consumer-awareness brochure — ask these of us or anyone else, and compare the answers:
Unrepaired hail damage significantly reduces resale and trade-in value — dealers price it aggressively downward because they’ll have to fix it themselves. Since insurance typically covers the repair minus your deductible, leaving it usually costs more in lost value than fixing it costs out of pocket. Worth doing the math before deciding to live with it.
Generally no — hail is an Act of God rather than an at-fault event.
Storm weeks are genuinely busy and we won’t pretend otherwise, but estimates stay same-day and we’ll give you an honest queue time instead of a promise we can’t keep.
Nearly all of them. Where a part gets replaced instead, it’s typically because replacement costs the claim less than repair — not because the dent was unfixable.
Typically a week or less depending on dent count and scheduling — considerably faster than body shop repair.
Text a photo to (918) 809-7438 with your year, make and model. If it’s a dent, we’ll tell you whether PDR is the right fix or whether you need a body shop. If it’s paint, we’ll tell you whether it’s a detail or a correction. Free either way.
