Paint Correction in Tulsa
Permanently Removing What Polish Hides

What paint correction actually does

Paint correction is the machine polishing of your clear coat to remove defects that are cut into it — swirl marks, hazing, oxidation, water spot etching, and light scratches. The key word is remove. A wax or glaze fills defects temporarily and they reappear after a few washes. Correction levels a microscopic amount of clear coat down to the base of the defect, so the flaw is physically gone. Done once, properly, it doesn’t come back unless something new causes it.

Where the damage comes from

Nine times out of ten in Tulsa, it’s automatic car washes. Spinning brushes hold grit from every vehicle ahead of you and drag it across your paint in circles — that’s precisely what a swirl mark is. Add Oklahoma sun oxidizing the clear coat, hard-water spots that etch if they dry in the heat, and improper hand washing with a dirty mitt, and a three-year-old black car can look a decade old. The paint underneath is usually fine. It’s the top few microns of clear coat that are chewed up, and that’s exactly what correction fixes.

What the process involves

  • Complete Full Detail first — correcting dirty paint just grinds contaminants into the finish.
  • Clay bar decontamination — pulls embedded rail dust, overspray, and industrial fallout the wash can’t touch. Run your hand over the paint in a plastic bag; that grit is what clay removes.
  • Multi-step machine correction — a cutting stage to level defects, then refining stages to restore clarity and gloss. Multi-step is the difference between real correction and a single quick gloss pass.
  • Final inspection under dedicated lighting — the same discipline our dent techs use reading panels.

Pricing, and why cheap correction isn’t correction

Small $1,099 / Large $1,299, including the complete Full Detail. That’s a real number for real work: correction is measured in hours of machine time on every panel, and a shop quoting a few hundred dollars is doing one pass with a filler-heavy polish that looks incredible for two weeks and then doesn’t. We’d rather quote honestly than have you back here in a month wondering where the gloss went. *Prices subject to change as circumstances vary.

Do this once, then protect it

Correction removes clear coat, and you only have so much — which is why the smart sequence is correct once, then coat. Adding a Ceramic Coating over corrected paint locks the finish in for years and means you shouldn’t need correction again. Correction followed by ceramic, then the $75/month Maintenance Program, is the way a car stays looking like this instead of sliding back.

Is your car a candidate?

Park in direct sun or under a bright light and look at the paint at an angle. Spider-web circles that seem to rotate as you move are swirls. A cloudy, flat look on what should be glossy is oxidation. Faint straight lines that catch a fingernail may be too deep for full correction — we’ll tell you what’s realistic before we start. Bring it by 8618 E 46th St and we’ll look at it with you.

Not sure which you need?

Text a photo to (918) 809-7438 with your year, make and model. If it’s a dent, we’ll tell you whether PDR is the right fix or whether you need a body shop. If it’s paint, we’ll tell you whether it’s a detail or a correction. Free either way.
