Here's Exactly What to Do

1. Photograph everything, now

Hood, roof, trunk, both sides, in good light before anything gets washed or moved. Shoot at an angle so the dents show. This documentation matters for your claim.

2. Open your claim

Call your insurer and get a claim number. Hail is an Act of God — filing generally does not raise your individual rates. Ask specifically whether your policy includes a rental while repairs are underway; most full-coverage policies do.

3. Do not sign with a pop-up tent
